Since 1st July 2014, Mr. Sédiko Douka was appointed as Director of the ECOWAS Infrastructure Projects Preparation and Development Unit (PPDU).
Prior to that, as staff of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA/ECA), he served as Regional Advisor in Infrastructure Development for the ECOWAS Commission, Abuja in line with a technical partnership between the two institutions, from 2009 to 2014. In addition to his tasks of advisory services and technical assistance in the formulation, selection and prioritization of regional infrastructure projects, Mr. Douka coordinated the PPDU project.
From 2002 to 2009 he worked for the Agency for Safety of Aerial Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA) based in Dakar where his duties were to design and make technical, legal and financial arrangements for airport facilities projects in 17 countries, nearly 50 airports in West, Central Africa and Indian Ocean.
From 1991 to 2002, Mr. Douka was employed by the Niger Public Power Utility (NIGELEC) in various positions in the field of generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electrical energy.
He is a member and the ECOWAS focal point of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA) created by the African Union NEPAD Secretariat and AfDB.
Mr. Douka’s background is:

- Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Master Finance (University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar (Senegal))
- Certificate in Transport Economics (Université Lumière, Lyon 2 (France)
- Certificate in Projects Mangement (Ecole Nationale d’Aviation Civile (ENAC) Toulouse (France))
